Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes Multiplayer Review

About Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

Gather your family and friends and transform yourselves into bomb-defusing experts in Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. The goal of the game is to diffuse a bomb before time runs out, but there’s a catch. One person has the task of diffusing the bomb, but he has no idea how to do it. Instead, he must rely on his team—who have the instructions but can’t see the bomb—to guide him to success before the countdown runs out.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes Multiplayer

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes can be played with as many people as you want. Here's how it works: one person is in charge of diffusing the bomb, and everyone else provides instructions for doing it. That means only one person needs a console or computer, and everyone else references printed instruction manuals. "Online" play for those who aren't in the same location can be achieved over the phone or via video chat.

Review of Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is focused entirely on cooperation and communication. The player who holds the bomb knows nothing about it, and the team that has the instruction manual needs to quickly browse it to aid in puzzle-solving.

The system is intuitive and helps bring together a group of people in a not-so-common task. There are different types of modules in each of the bomb’s sides as well as several scattered details—serial numbers and amount of batteries—that are important when looking for solutions to puzzles.

Each successful diffusion results in a more difficult challenge, and solutions rarely repeat themselves. Initially, you’ll encounter classic techniques: wire cutting, the big button to be—or not to be—pressed, a memory panel, a Simon-Says module, and symbol keypads. These can be easily solved by following the tables in the instruction manual and require little tracking of information. However, as you progress, the challenges become much more difficult.

Challenging puzzles come in all shapes and forms. One of them is a Morse Code module that’s solved by translating a flickering light into words and responding to a specific radio frequency. Other odd obstacles demand constant attention from the players, such as the Capacitor Discharge that needs to be constantly discharged before it overloads, flickering lights that distract from tasks, and a buzzing alarm that must be snoozed.

The game demands that everyone works together to beat the timer and avoid mistakes. It’s a great game for boosting reasoning, memory, and teamwork skills in a thrilling and exciting way.

Puzzles are randomly generated, and free-play is also available if you want to face a custom challenge, so the title offers a tremendous amount of replay value. The virtual reality headset compatibility for PS4 is a huge bonus: tension will rise as the diffuser finds himself alone in a virtual room with a bomb to defuse and only his team’s voices to help him.
